What is next after preregistration?
REACH pre-registration
ended the 30th of November 2008 and turned out to be
a relatively simple administrative exercise
for chemical supplying companies.
The REACH phases yet to come,
data sharing and registration will probably require more resources
from them and will also more heavily involve downstream
users.
Data sharing requires extensive communication with suppliers, customers and fellow registrants.
The first step is to establish a SIEF (Substance Information Exchange Forum) to exchange the information between potential registrants of the same substance. Each SIEF shall be operational until 1 June 2018. A pre-SIEF phase ensures that preregistrants belong to the right SIEF.Registration of phase-in substances has to be done according to the following timeline. Non-phase in chemicals can be registered anytime but require an inquiry process.
