If you are an importer who has not pre-registered, you may qualify for late pre-registration provided you can meet a couple of criteria. This creates an advantage from the phase-in status, delaying the registration until the respective deadline is met. | |

The pre-registration period is now over. The total number of pre-registrations has exceeded two million with 50,000 companies signed up. Late Pre-registration REACH-IT will be enabled for submission of "late pre-registrations" from 5 January 2009 for companies that start manufacturing or importing after 1 December 2008 (REACH art. 28 (6)). | |

Under Article 28 (4) of the REACH Regulation ECHA is required to publish by 1 January 2009 the list of substances which have been pre-registered within the time period 1 June 2008 to 01 December 2008. A (preliminary) List of pre-registered substances is currently available. |

Substances on the Candidate List may become subject to authorisation by decision of the European Commission. The inclusion of a substance in the List may have legal obligations on companies. The Candidate List will be regularly updated. | |
